Major infiltration bid foiled, two terrorists killed along LoC in Kupwara

Srinagar, June 13: A joint party of security forces on Tuesday gunned down two foreign terrorists and foiled a major infiltration bid along Line of Control (LoC) in Machil sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Additional Director General of Police, (ADGP),Vijay Kumar congratulated the joint team for carrying the successful operation without any collateral damage, thereby eliminating two terrorists.
He said successful neutralization of the terrorists in the Machil sector sends a strong message to those who attempt to infiltrate and disrupt peace along the LoC.
“Police and security forces are fully capable and resolute in defending the sovereignty of the nation and protecting its citizens,” ADGP Kumar said.
A police official stated that in a joint operation launched by Army (57RR), Kupwara Police and TA 160 Bn, two terrorists were killed in DoganarMachil sector along the LoC in Kupwara district.
“This operation marks a significant achievement in the on-going efforts to counter terrorism and ensure the safety of the region,” he said.
Briefing about the details, the police official said based on actionable intelligence, Army alongwith Kupwara police swiftly launched a meticulously planned operation in Machil sector.
“The joint team displayed exceptional valour, professionalism, and tactical expertise in conducting this operation, which resulted in the elimination of two unknown terrorists,” he said.
The official said as per the intelligence reports, slain terrorists are believed to be foreigners and linked with proscribed terror outfit HM who were trying to infiltrate to our side.
“The identification of the killed terrorists is being ascertained,” he said.
Meanwhile, police recovered arms and ammunition. includingtwo AK 47 rifles, four AK Magazines, 48 AK rounds, four grenades and other incriminating materials have been recovered from the site of encounter.
Earlier in the last month, two terrorists were also killed who were trying to infiltrate to this side.
Meanwhile in this regard, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation is in progress.
