At least 62 people were injured on Friday after a footbridge collapsed in Chennai Block in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district, officials said.
While speaking to media, District Magistrate Udhampur said, 62 people were injured while 25 were referred to the district hospital. The evacuation was done in half an hour.
“Five injured people in critical condition were referred to Jammu”, she said.
“The footbridge collapsed during the Baisakhi celebration at Beni Sangam in Bain village in Udhampur’s Chennai Block, added SSP Vinod.
Upon receiving the information, the police and other teams reached the spot.
