Srinagar, Feb 04: Shining outside the country, proving mettle on international platforms, and bringing laurels home have always been dreams of students full of passion and spirit. Zaib Sofi, a resident of north Kashmir’s Handwara, is one such shining star who has been nominated for the student exchange programme at  prestigious University of California in the United States of America.
Zaib Sofi, a law student at Jindal Global Law School, is currently pursuing an LLB and has brought laurels to J&K after passing a rigorous selection process for getting nominated for the student exchange programme at the  University of California in US.
Zaib will be heading to the University of California, Davis School of Law, later this week and will be studying his next semester there.
“Studying there would give me a holistic understanding of what a developed country and state looks like.” “I will also learn how  the intellectual minds deliver things in appropriate forums,” he added.
“After returning from the US, I can  efficiently inculcate the same laws and techniques of running a state back in J&K when I get a chance to become a lawmaker in Jammu and Kashmir,” Zaib said.
While speaking to Rising Kashmir, Zaib said he had always dreamed of going to the US and getting to study law from the top professors in the world. He aspires to be a lawmaker in J&K. He believes that studying the law in the US would broaden his knowledge of the law and his horizons for looking at things.
He said studying at an international university will give him a chance to shine and excel in his field and will provide him with the experience to read the intellectual minds outside the country.
Zaib says that he was thankful to his parents, professors, teachers, and well-wishers who helped him all the way to get through the journey and make it to the University of California.
“I’m passionate about providing a helping hand to the people of J&K, especially the youth, who have a lot of potential in different spheres of life,” Zaib added.
