Srinagar, Aug 13: Noted personality Khwajah Farooq Renzushah on Sunday highlighted the importance of the revival of Tasawuf of the times of Bulbul Shah and Amir-e-Kabir in Kashmir.
While delivering a keynote address at an event near the UNO office here, Renszushah said, “In the past, UNO in Srinagar was made to listen only to radical slogans but today they find change and now listen to the voice of the majority of Kashmir who believe in nationalism, unity, Tasawuf and spiritual Ishq.”
He added, “The purity of Tasawuf and Sama-e-Saadat is an important component of Tasawuf, Ishq-e-Rasool (SAW) and Ishq-e-Awaliya.”
Renzushah said Kashmir remained an abode of Sufism even during the British era when Maharajas were administering Kashmir on behalf of British imperialism. From 1930, Communism emerged to devour Tasawuf in Kashmir, he said.
He said the time has come to declare Kashmir a place of Tasawuf belonging to all religions. “It is the supremacy of nature which has made Kashmir a heterogeneous society but unfortunately for vote bank politics, it has been deliberately suppressed by the previous regimes so that the heterogeneous character of the valley remains hidden from the world and the region is projected as a violent tribal place of warlords like Afghanistan,” he said.
Khwajah Renzushah added, “Kashmir is presently passing through a critical phase and the hidden forces are still encouraging the radical ideologies by suppressing our joint composite culture.”
