Jammu, Feb 11: The Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has so far not been able to constitute its State Executive Committee (Pradesh Karyakarini) even after the passage of almost six (6) months since the party appointed its new JKPCC President, Vikar Rassol Wani.
Wani was appointed as JKPCC President in August last year replacing GA Mir.
“Whenever, there is change of guard i.e a new State President is appointed by the party a new State Executive Committee (Pradesh Karyakarini) has to be constituted for smooth functioning of the party at ground level,” JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma informed Rising Kashmir.
The Congress Chief Spokesperson, however, said that that the matter will be taken up with the party high command and the new State Executive Committee (Pradesh Karyakarini) will be constituted after consultations.
Former JKPCC President, GA Mir, when contacted, said that the party’s important affairs are so far being managed with the old State Executive Committee (Pradesh Karyakarini).
This old State Executive Committee (Pradesh Karyakarini), sources said, was constituted during the tenure of former JKPCC President GA Mir, who was replaced by Vikar Rasool Wani in August last year.
Meanwhile, sources within the Congress Party informed that more than 340 delegates from the party’s state unit have been invited by the party high command for its Plenary Session scheduled to be held in Chattisgarh later this month.
“We will discuss the matter there with the party high command regarding constitution of State Executive Committee (Pradesh Karyakarini),” the JKPCC Chief Spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma, said.
The State Executive Committee (Pradesh Karyakarini) is one of the most important decision taking body (committee) of the party which not only takes important decisions regarding party’s functioning at various levels i.e from booth level upto the State level as a whole besides monitoring and ensuring implementation of the party’s organisational programmes right at the ground level from time to time .
