Samba, Aug 02: Apni Party provincial president Jammu and former minister, S Manjit Singh has demanded revamp of developmental activities in the Dhayansar area in Samba district.
Addressing a meeting-cum-joining programme that was organized by OBC President Bhagat Ram, the former minister said, “Dhanyansar area is neglected by the authorities on the developmental activities. It lacks proper sanitization and drainage systems that often flood the area and rainwater gushes into the nearby houses and fields.”
“The authorities have not taken any step for the improving drainage system, development of lanes, cleanliness, and no nallah cleaning efforts taken by the concerned department,” he said.
He also expressed anguish over the unprecedented electricity cuts in the Jammu region including Dhayansar that has adversely affected the normal life of the people. “The electricity cuts have affected the agricultural activities, and the water supply system with long hours of electricity together is unjustified,” he said, adding that Dhayansar needs overall development.
Singh blamed the traditional political parties for the negligence and backwardness of Dhayansar and accused them that they got votes from the people but did nothing on the ground for them. He, however, assured the people that if the Apni Party forms the next government in J&K, equitable development will be ensured in all the areas, and regions without discrimination.
On the occasion, prominent youth leader Balbir Kumar along with hundreds of supporters from various political parties joined Apni Party, the party said in a statement. While welcoming them into the party fold, the former minister hoped that their joining would strengthen the party.
