Shopian, Sep 06: “People have high expectations from Congress and a great desire for change in the country given the NDA’s deceitful policies and failures to address multiple issues,” Congress Working Committee member Ghulam Ahmad Mir said on Wednesday.
While interacting with party workers at Kandi Shadab in Shopian district, Mir said, “Peak unemployment, economic distress, unprecedented price rise, open loot and many other issues are responsible for pushing people towards economic backwardness leading to frustration and disappointment across the country.”
According to a statement, the Congress leader interacted with the party workers who apprised him about the organisational activities and multiple issues faced by the public. They held discussions over the current state of affairs and suggested many important measures to rejuvenate the party in Shopian.
Speaking on the occasion, Mir laid emphasis on rejuvenating the party at the booth level and told the workers to start preparations for upcoming ULB and Panchayat elections and other challenges, especially assembly and parliamentary elections.
“People have a strong urge for the Congress Party while having full faith and confidence in its pro-people policies and the selfless services rendered towards public betterment,” he said, adding, “I N D I A (alliance) is strong enough to defeat NDA with the result they are desperate enough and have started creating confusion under the garb of many unwanted developments aiming to divert people’s attention from real issues. NDA will face a humiliating defeat in upcoming assembly elections in different states and parliamentary elections.”
