JAMMU, Feb 18: The Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) on Tuesday recovered a cache of ammunition and explosive material from a terrorist hideout in the Chilla Danga area of Kawala Samba district.
The recovered items included 29 live rounds, one AK rifle magazine, and explosive powder. A police patrol, acting on a tip-off, conducted a search in the Kawala forest area and discovered the concealed materials hidden in the cavity of a tree and rock.
“Anti-national elements appear to have illegally stored this material to carry out terrorist acts and cause harm,” a police spokesman said, adding that the recovery had averted a major sabotage attempt. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
