New Delhi, Dec 19: The Centre for Narendra Modi Studies (CNMS) has announced the launch of the prestigious Ratan Tata Scholarships for authors aspiring to write books on the life, achievements, and legacy of the late Ratan Naval Tata.
The initiative aims to honor the visionary leader’s extraordinary contributions to business, philanthropy, and nation-building.
The scholarship is designed to inspire writers to document Ratan Tata’s transformative role in shaping India’s economic and social landscape.
Prof. Jasim Mohammad, Chairman of CNMS, emphasized that the purpose of this scholarship is twofold: to promote high-quality, well-researched literature about Ratan Tata’s life and work, and to motivate young authors and researchers to explore the multifaceted dimensions of his contributions to India and the world. “This scholarship is designed to spark a deeper exploration of his leadership journey, his work with Indian industries, and his commitment to philanthropy. We want to document how Ratan Tata, through his visionary leadership, helped Indian companies expand globally and played an essential role in shaping the nation’s economic growth,” he added.
“We want books that showcase his entrepreneurial journey, his role in expanding India’s industries, his commitment to ethical practices, and his deep-rooted belief in giving back to society. We also want to shed light on how Ratan Tata’s leadership continues to inspire not just in business, but in areas like healthcare, education, infrastructure, and sustainable development,” he explained.
He stated that CNMS has invited submissions of book abstracts focusing on his life, values, and achievements. The scholarship program will support the creation of two books, one in English and one in Hindi, focusing on Ratan Tata’s remarkable journey. Authors whose abstracts are selected will receive financial assistance of ₹50,000/- rupees disbursed upon the successful completion and release of their books.
Prof. Jasim Mohammad also informed that CNMS would host an annual Ratan Tata Memorial Lecture. “Each year, either on Ratan Tata’s birth anniversary or death anniversary, we will hold a memorial lecture to celebrate his contributions and inspire others with his life story,” he said.
