Jammu, Dec 18: In a tragic fire incident, six people died early Wednesday morning in Shiv Nagar area of Kathua district of Jammu region, while four others were injured.
The fire broke in a rented accommodation, in which six people, including two minors, died due to suffocation.
The victims were immediately rushed to the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital in Kathua, where they were declared dead. The four others injured in the incident are currently undergoing treatment at Kathua Hospital.
Lieutenant Governor (LG) of J&K Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have expressed grief over loss of lives in the tragic incident.
In his condolence message, the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, described the incident as deeply painful.
“It is heart-breaking to learn about this tragedy where six precious lives were lost. I pray for eternal peace to the departed souls and for the swift recovery of those injured in this unfortunate incident,” he said.
The Chief Minister extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families, praying for strength and forbearance to help them endure this difficult time.
The Chief Minister assured that the best possible medical care is being provided to the injured.
“I have directed the concerned authorities to ensure that the injured receive the best possible treatment for a smooth recovery,” he said.
The LG Manoj Sinha also expressed sadness over the loss of lives in a tragic fire incident which occurred in Kathua.
In a condolence message, the Lt Governor said, “Extremely saddened by the loss of lives due to a tragic fire in Kathua, my thoughts are with the bereaved families and I wish the injured a speedy recovery”.
