Shopian, Oct 22: The Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Shopian, Shabir Ahmad Kullay, today chaired an introductory and review meeting with district and sectoral officers at the Mini Secretariat, Shopian.
Officers from various departments, including R&B, Jal Shakti, Health, School Education, Irrigation, Agriculture, Horticulture, and Animal Husbandry, presented departmental activities, development, and welfare initiatives being undertaken in the Shopian Assembly Constituency.
Achievements and ongoing works for District Capex 2023-24 and 2024-25 were also highlighted during the review meeting by the respective district officers.
On the occasion, the MLA took stock of various developmental issues pertaining to road connectivity, water supply, MC Shopian activities (including beautification), health, school education, the acceleration of irrigation canal networks, rural development, and agriculture works and schemes, as well as other issues of public importance.
The MLA discussed and deliberated on various public welfare measures and sought details of ongoing activities and requirements on a departmental basis.
While addressing the inaugural meeting with officers, the MLA requested full cooperation from departments in strengthening public service delivery.
Earlier, District Development Commissioner Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar, in his inaugural speech, provided an overview of the district profile and vital projects under execution.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone; ACR, CPO, GM DIC, CEO, CMO, Executive Engineers, and other district and sectoral officers.
