• Wreath-laying ceremony held at Humhama
• CS, DGP, Div Com attends the function

Srinagar, Sep 21: Inspector General (IG) BSF Kashmir, Ashok Yadav on Saturday paid rich tributes to three soldiers and stated that the force stands firmly with their families at this crucial time.
A wreath-laying ceremony was organized at the BSF Kashmir’s frontier Headquarters at Humhama, Srinagar. It was attended by Advisor to LG, J&K, Chief Secretary Atal Duloo, Divisional Commissioner VK Bidhuri, DGP J&K RR Swain, IGP Kashmir VK Birdi, DC Budgam and all ranks of BSF, senior officials of Security Forces, and civil administration.
Earlier on Friday, 3 BSF personnel were killed and 34 others were injured after a bus fell into a gorge in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
IG BSF Yadav said force stands firmly with the families of the fallen Seema Praharis, and BSF will extend all assistance to their wards.
“We honour and remember Head Constable Cook Dayanand, Head Constable, Water Carrier Ramayodhya Singh and Constable GD Sukhwasi Lal.
“Their selfless dedication to duty and unwavering commitment to protecting our nation will never be forgotten,” he said.
IG Yadav also expressed gratitude to local villagers, district administration, JKP, and sister agencies for their swift response and vital role in evacuating the trapped personnel.
“The heartbreaking accident occurred on Sep 20, near Waterhail, Budgam district, claiming the lives of three brave BSF personnel. The bus carrying 36 BSF personnel from Aishmuqam to Waterhail for the J&K Assembly election-2024 skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge,” he added.
IG BSF Yadav said they salute the bravery and resilience of our jawans who risk their lives to ensure the safety and security of citizens. We wish speedy recovery to the injured.
He said the doctors and paramedic staff of Budgam district hospital, SHMS, and 92 Base Hospital of the army provided immediate treatment to the 33 injured BSF personnel and one civil driver.
