Ramnagar, Sept 14: Science Club and Department of Hindi of
Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar organized two different
competitions to celebrate International Ozone Day and Hindi Diwas, as
a part of extra curriculum under the guidance of Dr. Bhavnaish Chand,
Principal of the College and convenership of Dr. Kewal Kumar (Convener Science Club) and Prof. Romesh Kumar, HOD Hindi.
In the Morning session, Science Club organized Power Point
Presentation competition on different sub-themes in which 17 students
participated. Prof. Ashni Devi HOD Botany, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Pandit HOD Physics and Prof. Eisha Gohil HOD Psychology acted as jury members and adjudged the whole competition. The evaluation criteria included relevance to the topic, content and presentation/creativity. The first prize was bagged by Rama Devi, Sem –III, the second prize was bagged by Gurdeep Atri, Sem-V and Vansh Modi, Sem-V bagged Third Prize.
In the evening session, Department of Hindi organized Seminar in which 15 speakers participated. Prof. Parminder Kumar HOD IT and Dr. Sunil Kumar HOD Dogri and Prof. Pardeep Kumar adjudged the Seminar.
Arti Devi (Sem-V), Renu Devi (Sem-III) and Minakshi (Sem-III) were adjudged as first, second and third winners respectively.
Meanwhile both the sessions culminated with the address of Dr.
Bhavnaish Chand, chief guest of the event, where he congratulated and
appreciated the efforts of Science Club, Department of Hindi and
Participants. He also added that such activities go hand in hand with
NEP 2020 in which the student learns different skills, develops
divergent and creative thinking.
He further added that such competition strives to balance work with
play and make academics fun and interesting for students. The healthy
competition among the participants will definitely develop a
competitive spirit in the students which shall help them in their
future endeavors. He also threw light on relevance of Ozone
conservation as well as Hindi Language.
Winners were presented the Mementos as per their position secured. All
the students were given certificates of appreciation and light
refreshment. Formal Vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Ritika
Mahajan. Further, the program was witnessed by a large number of
students.
