e-buses garner overwhelming response & revenue: Officials

Record 30 lakh people travel by e buses since Jan

Jammu, Aug 11: e-buses plying along various routes of Jammu City have received an overwhelming response from the people as a record number of people have opted for traveling by these eco-friendly buses. The buses have so far provided services to more than thirty lakh (30,0000) people since January, officials said..
Pertinent to mention here, e-buses were launched in the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir by the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, on January 26th this year through virtual mode.
As per the data revealed, over thirty lakh (30,0000) people have traveled by e-buses on different routes of Jammu region since January till today.
“We have received an overwhelming response from the people of Jammu for e-buses,” General Manager, Jammu Smart City Limited (JSCL), Ashsish Anand told Rising Kashmir.
Adding, “This is a record in itself as the revenue collection is also manifold and beyond our expectations,” the General Manager added.
Officials said that the public response towards the e-buses in Jammu has seen a steep rise in the last 15 days. On an average, between 19,000 to 22,000 people travel in e-buses plying on different routes of Jammu region, the figures revealed.
The e-buses are plying on different routes of Jammu region both inter-city and intra-city. These buses have been providing a comfortable journey with the facilities like ACs in summers and the heating system in winters.
