Pulwama, Jan 19: Former chief minister and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mehbooba Mufti on Friday visited the residence of party’s Youth President Waheed ur Rehman Parra to offer condolences on the demise of his father.
Mufti, along with party leaders, expressed condolences on the passing of Haji Ghulam Ahmad Parra, a 62-year-old model apple grower, who fought a brave battle against cancer for over a year, the party said in a statement. The deceased, who hailed from a family with strong political ties, succumbed to stage IV cancer late on Wednesday.
Mehbooba conveyed deep sympathy and solidarity to the grieving family during the condolence visit.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family in this hour of grief. May Almighty Allah grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannah,” Mufti said during the condolence meeting. She expressed solidarity with Waheed ur Rehman Parra and prayed for strength to the bereaved family.
