Srinagar, July 19: The two-day District Srinagar Throwball Championship, organized by the District Srinagar Throwball Association in collaboration with Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School Khanyar Srinagar and under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Throwball Association, concluded with fervor at GHSS Khanyar.
Over a hundred participants from various institutions, colleges, and clubs in the Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior Men/Women categories showcased their skills and enthusiasm in the event.
Seema Jan, Vice Principal of GHSS Khanyar, graced the occasion as the chief guest, and Shazia Abbass (PEL) and Rouf Ahmad Khan (PEM) were among the distinguished guests of honor.
In an intense display of talent and teamwork, Oak Hill Educational Institute emerged victorious in the boys’ and girls’ junior categories, defeating strong competitors Kashmir Harvard Edu. Institute & CMP School. On the other hand, Hussaini Sports Club displayed exceptional prowess and lifted both titles in the senior categories.
The event also served as selection trials conducted by the J&K Throwball Association for the upcoming Junior National Throwball Championship 2023, scheduled to be held at Erode, Tamil Nadu.
The District Srinagar Throwball Championship showcased the immense potential and dedication of the young athletes, and it served as an excellent platform for talent identification and development. The support from the school authorities and the collaboration between various associations highlighted the collective efforts to promote sports and nurture sporting talent in the region. The winners of the championship will now represent Srinagar at the national level, aiming to make the region proud with their exceptional skills and sportsmanship.
