Poonch, July 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Ball Badminton Association is all set to host the “My Youth My Pride” District Poonch Ball Badminton Championship for Boys and Girls 2023. The eagerly awaited tournament will feature competitions for all age groups, including Mini, Sub-Junior, Junior, Youth, and Senior categories. The event will take place from 24th July to 26th July 2023 at Army Goodwill School Potha in Surankote, Poonch.
The three-day championship has received sponsorship from the J&K Sports Council and will be organized by the J&K Ball Badminton Association under the “My Youth My Pride” initiative. This prestigious event aims to promote the sport of ball badminton and provide a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills and talent.
In a recent handout, the J&K Ball Badminton Association invited all Ball Badminton players, colleges, institutions, schools, and clubs from the Poonch district to participate in the championship. Interested players are required to register their names or send their entries via WhatsApp to 8494093441. The deadline for sending entries is 23rd July 2023, and no on-spot registrations will be accepted.
The draw for the tournament is scheduled to take place on 24th July 2023 at 11:00 am at the Army Goodwill School Potha venue, where players will be assigned fixtures for the competition. Notably, the championship will serve as a talent hunt, and selectors will pick players during the tournament for potential participation in the upcoming UT level Championship.
The “My Youth My Pride” District Poonch Ball Badminton Championship promises exciting matches and aims to foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy competition among young athletes. The event also provides a pathway for talented players to represent the district and possibly progress to higher levels of the sport.
