Ganderbal, June 25: In a bid to bolster tourism and encourage adventure activities like Zipline, the “River Crossing Zipline and Mountain and Dreams” Sonamarg, in collaboration with the tourism department, organized a captivating cultural event in the scenic Sonamarg area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Held at the premises of the International Youth Hostel Sonamarg, which already boasts a Zipline, the program aimed to promote the tourism sector and provide an exciting platform for adventure enthusiasts. The event featured thrilling Zipline demonstrations, accompanied by lively music to enhance the overall experience.
Representatives from the Tourism Department and the owners of “Zipline and Mountain and Dreams” were present at the program, highlighting the collaborative efforts made to support adventure sports in the region. The event also served as a training opportunity for participants to learn about river crossing and rappelling techniques.
Saddam Hussain, the visionary behind “River Crossing Zipline and Mountain and Dreams,” expressed his belief that adventure sports activities like Zipline should be incorporated into educational curricula. He emphasized the importance of practical experiences, stating that artificial walls cannot replicate the true joy of such activities, which should be conducted in the field. He added, “Engaging in these activities within one’s premises is perfectly acceptable and helps generate interest in the area.”
With their expertise in adventure courses and comprehensive knowledge of Zipline operations, the organizers have set the stage for a thrilling and safe adventure experience. Saddam Hussain also revealed plans for future cultural programs, further promoting the tourist sector in Sonamarg and fostering a sense of adventure among visitors and locals alike.
