Jammu, Aug 23: Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) Jammu said it has been working within many inherent constraints where all sorts of issues come up on a daily basis.
“Absenteeism and inadequate workforce are some of the hampering factors. However, on the other hand, some of the frontrunners amongst the performers have always been volunteering in the previous two years to come up to the expectations of stakeholders. They have rendered their voluntary services in the critical moments, as and when required,” the organisation said in a press release.
Sanjeev Kumar, Senior Social Security Assistant who joined EPFO, Jammu on temporary transfer from Regional Office, Goa (initially for one year) in July 2021, processed 816 claims recently in two days (19th and 20th of August 2023), with a view to helping and reducing the backlog of his colleagues. This is a remarkable feat.
Sanjeev Kumar smiled while he was asked about these remarkable feet and attributed his effort to P F Commissioner, Rizwan Uddin, whom he considers to be his mentor. He likes healthy eating habits, service orientation and being approachable to stakeholders and staff members, etc, qualities of P F Commissioner.
The kind of workload EPFO, Jammu is handling, and the way certain impediments got cropped up in the recent past, when absenteeism suddenly increased (some of the staff members met with accidents /were suffering from ailments), Sanjeev Kumar has risen up to the occasion like a warrior and has been helping many of colleagues, despite his own work, the EPFO Jammu said.
Similarly, Mukesh Kumar, Section Supervisor joined from RO Kolhapur, Maharashtra in July 2021 who processed 188 claims on 19th August 2023, as a Section Supervisor is a role model for many. Despite handling work in the Administration Section, he processed the aforesaid claim in the absence of Amit, Jakhmola, AO who was on leave.
Pramod Kumar Singh, EO/AO joined from RO Pune-I in June 2021 and processed 144 claims on 19th August, 2023 at SS and AO level to reduce the backlog. Raja Sekhar Dasari, SSSA who joined RO, Srinagar from after being relieved from RO, Kadapa in July 2021, has recently been specifically deputed at RO, Jammu to manage outstanding claims and other miscellaneous works; He processed 130 claims on 19.08.2023.
The PF Commissioner, Rizwan Uddin, while acknowledging their contribution said that J&K and Ladakh have been his most challenging postings where he had to put in extra hours in office throughout the years.
He personally believes in volunteerism, as a significant number of subscribers were facilitated at Jammu, Srinagar and various camp locations, where outreach programmes were held.
