Srinagar, Jan 24: In anticipation of Republic Day celebrations, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi, affirms the active and vigilant security grid to guarantee a smooth and peaceful event in the Kashmir Valley.
Speaking to reporters during a Republic Day rehearsal at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar, the IGP highlighted the collaborative efforts of the police with other forces to ensure the seamless execution of Republic Day functions in Srinagar and surrounding districts.
Addressing concerns about potential internet restrictions, IGP Birdi clarified that there is currently no such situation, emphasizing that everyone is encouraged to freely participate in the celebrations. The IGP assured the public that stringent security measures will be in place, accompanied by clear instructions to minimize any inconveniences for individuals attending the function.
Responding to inquiries regarding the possibility of disturbances, the IGP asserted that law enforcement is well-prepared to prevent and manage any such situations, emphasizing the commitment to maintaining peace and order during the Republic Day celebrations.
