New Delhi, Jan 28: The 109th edition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio show Mann Ki Baat was aired on Sunday. It was Modi’s first Mann Ki Baat programme this year.
During the programme, PM Modi hailed the contribution of women in various fields, including defence, agriculture, sports, social work etc. He highlighted how female defence personnel showcased their courage during Republic Day 2024 parade.
Prime Minister Modi highlighted the grandeur of the 75th Republic Day celebrations and the completion of 75 years for both the Indian Constitution and the Supreme Court. He emphasised the essence of democracy, drawing inspiration from the rule of Lord Ram, as discussed in Ayodhya during the ‘Dev se Desh’ event.
The PM commended the significant participation of women contingents in the Republic Day parade, showcasing the strength and coordination of women in various fields, including the armed forces. He highlighted the role of women in diverse sectors, fostering the mantra of ‘Women-Led Development’ in the 21st century.
PM Modi expressed satisfaction over the success of the cleanliness campaign initiated from Makar Sankranti to January 22. He urged citizens to continue the momentum, emphasising that collective efforts would propel the nation to new heights.
The PM acknowledged the increasing number and expanding scope of women’s self-help groups in the country. He shared success stories of women producing bio-fertilizers and bio-pesticides, demonstrating the transformative impact of these initiatives on rural economies.
Discussing the recently announced Padma Awards, PM Modi highlighted the commendable work of individuals in diverse fields. He noted the changing dynamics of the awards, transforming into the “People’s Padma,” with increased nominations and public involvement.
Commending those who have chosen to donate organs, PM Modi underscored the significance of their selfless act in saving multiple lives. He also announced the codification of terminology related to Ayurveda, Siddha, and Unani medicine, fostering a standardized language in medical practices.
PM Modi celebrated the success of sports initiatives in India, such as the Khelo India Youth Games and the innovative Beach Games. He highlighted the growing enthusiasm among the youth for sports, emphasizing its role in shaping the nation’s identity on the global stage.
Reflecting on National Voters Day, PM Modi praised the Election Commission’s efforts in ensuring the democratic rights of citizens. He encouraged first-time voters to register and participate actively, emphasizing the transformative power of a single vote.
On the birth anniversaries of Lala Lajpat Rai and Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa, PM Modi paid homage to their contributions to India’s freedom struggle and military strength, respectively.
PM Modi announced the upcoming seventh edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha,’ a platform to interact with students and address exam-related stress. He encouraged youth participation in record numbers and expressed eagerness for the interactive session.
PM Modi bid farewell, promising to connect with the nation again in February and emphasising the collective and individual efforts propelling the country forward.
