Jammu, Apr18: A solemn and spiritually uplifting Good Friday procession was taken out from by Our Lady of Rosary Catholic church from St. Mother Teresa Home, Tali Morh Janipur, passing through Prem Nagar, Rorian Di Chapri, Puran Nagar, and New Plot, culminating at Catholic Church, New Plot.
The holy procession, symbolizing the Way of the Cross and the Passion of Jesus Christ, Rev. Fr. Peter Paul Kajur (Parish Priest ) spiritually led the procession, guiding the participants in prayers and meditations at each station of the cross. Procession was led by Ashu Peter Mattoo, President of the All J&K Christian Sabha, along with Anil Mattoo , Suresh Kumar and other devotees. The faithful retraced the final journey of Jesus Christ with reverence, devotion, and deep reflection.
The event witnessed overwhelming participation from women, girls, children, and people of all faiths, who joined hands in a remarkable display of communal harmony, brotherhood, and spiritual solidarity.As the sacred image of the suffering Christ moved through the streets, devotees showered flowers, bowed in reverence, and received blessings, embodying the true spirit of Good Friday – a day of sacrifice, redemption, and hope.
Prominent social activist Sunil Dimple also joined the procession. He offered heartfelt prayers to Lord Jesus Christ, seeking peace, normalcy, and unity in the region and called for a future marked by love, mutual respect, and communal coexistence.
The All J&K Christian Sabha expressed gratitude to the people of Jammu for their participation and support in making the event a profound spiritual experience, reaffirming the message of Christ’s universal love and sacrifice for humanity.
