Srinagar, April 10: The Department of Community Medicine, GMC Srinagar, is set to host IAPSMCON 2025 — the 52nd Annual National Conference of the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine, starting on Friday.
The event which is scheduled to take place from April 11- 13, 2025, at SKICC Auditorium, will bring together over 1200 delegates from 36 states and Union Territories across India.
The inaugural ceremony will be graced by Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Administrative Secretary, Health & Medical Education Department, J&K as chief guest.
The event is being organized by the Department of Community Medicine (SPM), GMC Srinagar, under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) S. Muhammad Salim Khan, Head of Department.
The three-day national conference promises to be a landmark event. With over 560 research papers, 10 plenary sessions, and 20 presentations on best practices.
“This is one of the biggest medical and public health conferences ever hosted in Jammu and Kashmir,” Prof. Khan said.
“We are proud to welcome thought leaders, researchers, and policy makers from every corner of the country to exchange ideas, showcase innovations, and shape the future of public health in India,” he said.
The event is expected to serve as a vibrant platform for collaboration among academic institutions, healthcare professionals, and government bodies, further strengthening the region’s role in advancing medical education and community health initiatives.
