Udhampur, Nov 27: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Udhampur East, Ranbir Singh Pathania on Wednesday said the current administration in Jammu and Kashmir is “merely buying time” with no substantial agenda for progress.
He reminded the public that during the elections, the government had made lofty promises, including providing 200 units of free electricity, free rations and creating over one lakh jobs. “However, these promises had proven to be mere election rhetoric, as there had been no tangible action to fulfill them,” Pathania said while addressing a series of public meetings held here.
He criticised the Jammu and Kashmir government, accusing it of relying on “false promises” and hollow “political narratives” instead of delivering real development. “The government’s talk of development and welfare has no real substance. They have repeatedly shown false hopes, but when it comes to fulfilling promises, all we have received are empty words. The people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve much more,” he remarked.
The MLA expressed gratitude toward the Modi government for its “people-friendly” schemes, particularly the launch of ‘Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) IV’, which he claimed would unlock thousands of crores in infrastructure projects, ushering in an era of peace and development. He also welcomed the reopening of the ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G)’ portal and the opening of territorial army recruitment, both of which would provide new opportunities for the youth.
Pathania said he is committed to the development of Udhampur East and has a vision to transform it into a model constituency. “I am committed to working tirelessly to bring infrastructure, welfare, and job opportunities to every corner of Udhampur East. My goal is to ensure that this constituency becomes an example of growth and progress,” he said.
During his visit, the MLA inaugurated key infrastructure projects, including the Pagyal to Narsulla Bridge and another NABARD road project from Kharang to Larang. He assured the public that these developments were just the beginning and pledged to continue working toward improving the region’s connectivity and overall infrastructure.
“With the support of the community and the efforts of the Modi government, Udhampur will shine as a beacon of development,” Pathania said. The public meetings were attended by several key local leaders.
