Poonch, Sept 14: A 15-day certificate course on Integrated Nutritional Management (INM) for agricultural input dealers concluded on Saturday at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Poonch. The program, organized under the direction of Prof. B N Tripathi, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-Jammu, and supervised by the Director of Extension, SKUAST-Jammu, aimed to equip dealers with knowledge on balanced fertilizer use.
Speaking at the virtual valedictory session, Dr. Amrish Vaid, Director of Extension, SKUAST-Jammu, congratulated the 20 participants on completing the course. He emphasized the crucial role input dealers play as intermediaries between fertilizer companies and farmers, helping promote sustainable farming practices by advising on specific fertilizer requirements based on crop needs. Dr. Vaid also praised KVK Poonch for facilitating such essential training for agricultural sustainability.
Dr. Ajay Gupta, Chief Scientist and Head of KVK Poonch, detailed the program’s curriculum, which included 32 lectures and practical sessions delivered by experts from KVK and SKUAST-Jammu. The course, conducted from August 29 to September 14, 2024, covered a wide range of topics related to fertilizers and their balanced application.
The participants, hailing from various regions of Poonch district, expressed their appreciation for the comprehensive training. Certificates were distributed at the conclusion of the event, with Dr. Mushtaq Guroo, Course Coordinator, leading the proceedings.
