Jammu, Aug 21: The Chamber of Commerce & Industry, under the leadership of its President Arun Gupta, has strongly condemned the recent brutal rape and murder of a female trainee doctor in a Kolkata hospital. In a meeting of office bearers, Gupta called for a fair investigation into the incident and strict punishment for the accused.
Gupta described the incident as a “shocking reminder” of the rising crimes against women and urged authorities to take effective measures to ensure the safety and security of women, particularly in workplaces. He also expressed full support for the ongoing peaceful protests by doctors and paramedical staff demanding justice for the victim.
The meeting extended solidarity with the victim and prayed for her soul. Gupta conveyed the chamber’s grief, emphasizing that the tragic incident has deeply scarred the medical community and beyond.
