Jammu:- Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit leaders left for Mumbai on Tuesday with the list of potential party candidates for the assembly elections.
According to a party statement issued here, a core committee meeting was held on Tuesday at the party’s central office under the chairmanship of party state chief Manish Sahni in which the list of candidates by the state unit for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections was finalised.
A team of state unit leaders including state chief Manish Sahni left for Mumbai from Jammu to present this list before the party high command and for the final decision.
Speaking to the media persons, Sahni said that with the resolve to restore the rights of the local people of Jammu and Kashmir, instructions were issued to the state unit by party chief Uddhav Thackeray to participate in the assembly elections of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The names of candidates have been decided at the state level which will be placed before the high command for finalisation and will be made public after getting the green signal from the party high command,” he said.
Sahni said that Shiv Sena (UBT) candidates will contest the elections with the resolution to “fulfill the aspirations of the people including protection of the identity of Jammu and Kashmir, protection of cultural identity, restoration of privileges and rights of local people under Section 371, free electricity and water, unemployment allowance for educated youth, etc”.
