DYSS Dept Kishtwar starts IZDL Tournament at Chowgan Ground

Kishtwar, July 25: The Department of Youth Services & Sports Kishtwar today started Inter Zonal District Level Tournament in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Tug of War in both boys and girls category in the U/14 and U/17 age groups at Chowgan Ground Kishtwar.
The inauguration ceremony of the tournament was graced by the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest, the Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pawan Kotwal. DYSSO Kishtwar, Jaffer Haider Sheikh, along with other officers of the department were also present on the occasion.
In a ceremonious declaration, the ADC officially opened the tournament. He expressed profound admiration for the young athletes, emphasizing the significance of sports in fostering teamwork, discipline, and physical fitness. He encouraged the participants to display their utmost sportsmanship and dedication throughout the competition.
DYSSO Kishtwar, Jaffer Haider Sheikh highlighted the meticulous preparations undertaken for the tournament and encouraged the young athletes to give their best performance. He also reiterated the department’s commitment to promoting sports and nurturing young talent in the district.
The first day of the tournament culminated in a grand prize distribution ceremony, recognizing the outstanding performances of the young athletes in each discipline.
The prizes for the Inter Zonal District Level Tournament, Kabaddi, 1st Prize under U/14 Boys Won by Kishtwar zone. 2nd Prize won by Inderwal.
In Kabaddi, the 1st Prize U/17 Boys was won by zone Nagseni and 2nd Prize U/17 Boys Runner Up won by zone Kishtwar.
In Kho-Kho, the 1st Prize U/14 Girls was grabbed by zone Kishtwar and 2nd Prize U/14 Girls Runner Up bagged by zone Nagseni.
In Kho-Kho, the 1st Prize U/17 Girls was taken by zone Inderwal besides 2nd Prize U/17 Girls Runner Up bagged by zone Paddar.
In Tug of War the 1st Prize U/17 Boys was Won by zone Kishtwar, and 2nd Prize U/17 Boys Runner Up was awarded to zone Inderwal.
In Tug of War, the 1st Prize U/17 Girls Won by zone Paddar, 2nd Prize. U/17 Girls Runner Up was given to zone Kishtwar.
