• Security beefed up in the area
• Sniffer dogs being used to track the terrorists: Police

Srinagar, July 10: Doda, July 10:The massive search operation for holed-up terrorists who fled after a brief exchange of fire in the Goli-Gadi forest area of Doda district continued for the second consecutive day on Wednesday, officials said.
A police officer informed Rising Kashmir that a joint search operation involving the Army, Police, and CRPF is underway in Doda forests. “Security has been beefed up across the entire forest area. Tracking terrorists in dense forests is challenging due to the dense foliage and limited visibility. We are using both aerial surveillance and sniffer dogs to track the terrorists,” he said.
The operation against the hiding terrorists is ongoing, with no contact established with the two to three terrorists for the second straight day. The entire forest belt remains under a tight security cordon to neutralize the terrorists. The area’s mountainous terrain and dense forest make the operation difficult and dangerous.
Drones and helicopters have been deployed to assist the marching troops, which include para-commandos, in the jungle. The operation continues to face challenges due to the dense foliage and limited visibility.
On Tuesday, Para-commandos and the Special Operations Group, which primarily handles anti-terror operations, were deployed in the area.
This operation follows a deadly ambush on Monday afternoon, when five soldiers were killed and five others injured as terrorists attacked a convoy of two Army trucks in Kathua district.
On June 12, seven security personnel, including five Army men, were injured in twin terrorist attacks in the Chattergala and GandohBhalessa areas of Doda district.
