DEO Srinagar organizes mass awareness programme on SVEEP campaign at Women’s College M.A. Road

Srinagar Oct 02:  On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, who is also the District Election Officer (DEO), an awareness cum registration programme under ongoing extensive Systematic Voter Education Electoral Participation (SVEEP) of Electoral Rolls-2022 Campaign was organized at Government Womens College, M.A Road by the District Election Authority here on Sunday.
Besides, Additional District Development Commissioner, Zahoor Ahmad Mir, the programme was attended by Deputy DEO Srinagar, National Level Master Trainer/Consultant,  Sr. Election Officials from District Election machinery and Administration of Women College M.A Road.
The Programme witnessed large participation of the students who were apprised about the ongoing Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls 2022 that has started on September 15 and will continue till  October 25, 2022.
The students who have attained age of 18 were sensitised about the process of registering themselves as voters to become eligible to exercise their franchise to cast their vote to elect their representative. 
 The students were apprised about the  online registration process through nvsp.in or to contact respective local BLOs to register their claims.
 After being inculcated with the knowledge about benefits of Electoral Registration, the students vowed to register themselves during the ongoing SSR-2022. 
 The event proved to be successful in reaching out to all students of the Institution regarding their registration as a good number of forms were circulated among the eligible Students who will register themselves as fresh voters.
