Budgam, July 17: Prominent politician Zaffer Mir (Lasjan) on Monday urged the district administration of Budgam to make necessary arrangements for the upcoming month of Muharram-ul-Haraam.
Recognizing the significance of this month especially for the Shia community members who commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain Alaihi Salaam, the esteemed grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Mir emphasized the importance of providing all essential amenities to Azadaars without letting them face any inconvenience.
In a statement to the media, Zaffer Mir urged Deputy Commissioner Akshay Labroo and his team to prioritize the provision of water and electricity supply in all areas of Budgam, particularly those hosting special Muharram gatherings.
“There is a dire need to repair or replace the defunct street lights and ensure timely distribution of ration to the households in order to facilitate the smooth observance of Muharram,” he said.
Mir also took the opportunity to urge the people of Jammu and Kashmir to “embrace the message of Imam Hussain (AS) who made the ultimate sacrifice for truth and justice”.
“The historic event of Karbala exemplifies Imam Hussain’s unwavering commitment to righteousness and his courageous stand against tyrannical forces. We need to draw lessons from this sacrifice, promoting a just society and striving for transparent and effective governance,” he said.
