Srinagar, July 17: In a landmark event, the Baseball Softball Federation of India (BSFI) conducted its general body elections, resulting in the unanimous election of Dr. Joginder Singh Dalal as the National President. The momentous election took place during a highly attended general body meeting at the Apsara Hotel in Rohtak, Haryana, where representatives from 25 states across the country gathered.
The Returning Officer, Supreme Court advocate S.S. Sangwan, officially declared Dr. Joginder Singh Dalal as the National President, securing his position unopposed. Additionally, Anup Asthana of Rajasthan was elected as the Senior Vice President, and Manoj Kohli of Himachal Pradesh assumed the role of Secretary General.
One of the noteworthy appointments in the BSFI is the election of Mr. Fida Hussain Fidvi from Jammu and Kashmir as the Treasurer of the Federation. This decision signifies a significant step in promoting diversity and inclusivity in the leadership of India’s Baseball Softball governing body.
The newly elected Vice Presidents include Dr. Sudhir Kumar Mohindru of Himachal Pradesh, B.P.S. Rana of Uttarakhand, D.D. Khaund (Rtd. IAS) from Assam, Rajeev Dalal and Omkar Singh from Haryana. Furthermore, Pankaj Jain of Madhya Pradesh assumes the position of Senior Joint Secretary, while joint secretaries include Pramod Kumar from Punjab, Tarannum Khan from Chhattisgarh, Rajkumar from Bihar, Mohit Basral from Chandigarh, and Ashok Parmar from Haryana.
During the occasion, Dr. Joginder Singh Dalal, the newly elected National President, expressed his gratitude to all the delegates and extended congratulations to the newly elected office bearers. He emphasized the growing popularity of Baseball Softball worldwide and the potential for further advancement of the sport in India.
