Jammu, Oct 09: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) celebrated a resounding victory in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council election in Kargil, terming it a momentous occasion in Jammu and Kashmir’s political landscape.
Amidst the jubilant atmosphere at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan here, the party leaders, including Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, former minister, and Additional General Secretary, Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President Jammu Province, Surinder Choudhary, Central Secretary, Babu Rampaul, former minister and Central Zone President, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Ayub Malik, Pardeep Bali, Provincial Secretaries, Satwant Kour Dogra, P.P Women Wing Jammu Province, Bimla Luthra, Ex-MLA, Vijay Lochan, Chairman SC Cell, and Abdul Gani Teli, Chairman OBC Cell, along with other party functionaries and workers, rejoiced their victory, the NC said in a statement, adding that the celebrations resonated with the beats of Dhols, and sweets were distributed among the attendees.
Addressing the media, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, former minister, and Additional General Secretary, highlighted that this electoral triumph signifies the rejection of divisive policies associated with the Saffron Party by the discerning voters of Kargil. The electorate’s message emphasises the paramount importance of inclusive and equitable governance in the region, he said.
Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of JKNC in Jammu, spoke to reporters about the profound significance of this electoral victory. He said the election result constitutes a major setback for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), as a majority of Kargil voters expressed their dissatisfaction with the ruling party. Gupta credited the NC workers of Kargil and the blessings of NC leaders Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah for this victory, acknowledging their hard work and dedication.
Surinder Choudhary, Central Secretary, urged all party workers to maintain close ties with the public and be well-prepared for the upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir. He expressed confidence that the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference is well-positioned to form the next government in the region, reaffirming the party’s unwavering commitment to serving the people of Jammu and Kashmir with dedication and integrity.
