Jammu, Dec 26: Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, Additional General Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), and Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President Jammu Province, addressed a workers’ meeting organized by JKNC at Village Balah in Suchetgarh Constituency. The meeting, presided over by Jatinder Kumar, Block President of Suchetgarh, and Naresh Bittu, District President Jammu Rural, discussed party activities and border dwellers’ issues.
Sadhotra criticized the BJP for neglecting and betraying Jammu’s border dwellers, highlighting the challenges they face with security and the lack of basic amenities. He pointed out the absence of proper infrastructure development, including roads, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions. Sadhotra accused the government of failing to fulfill promises made before elections, particularly regarding job creation and financial benefits.
Rattan Lal Gupta emphasized the need for a united opposition to safeguard Indian democracy against the BJP government. He urged larger parties to collaborate with smaller regional parties to dislodge the BJP from the Centre in upcoming polls. Gupta highlighted mistakes made by opposition parties in recent elections and stressed the importance of sharing power with regional parties.
Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Provincial Secretary of JKNC, Jammu, called on border dwellers to strengthen the National Conference’s presence in their area. He reiterated the party’s commitment to addressing the unique challenges faced by border communities, ensuring their safety, economic development, and access to essential services. Ahmed assured people that JKNC, under the leadership of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, would continue advocating for their rights and working toward tangible improvements in living conditions.
