Srinagar, Feb 14:To boost tourism and prevent black marketing of tickets, the authorities have introduced a special morning ticketing slot for the Gulmarg Gondola.
As per officials, the new system allows tourists to purchase cabin tickets directly from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at the Main Waiting Hall, ensuring a hassle-free boarding experience.
The Gulmarg Gondola, one of the highest cable cars in the world, is a major attraction for visitors to Kashmir. The new initiative is expected to streamline ticket distribution and curb unauthorized sales, which have often caused inconvenience to tourists. Officials stated that this measure would enhance transparency and ensure that visitors get fair access to the facility.
A tourist from Mumbai, Rahul Verma, expressed his appreciation, saying, “This is a welcome step. It ensures that genuine visitors don’t fall prey to touts selling overpriced tickets.” Another visitor, Ayesha Khan from Delhi, added, “We were worried about long queues and uncertainty over tickets, but this system makes it much easier for us.”
Additionally, the authorities have extended the operational hours of the Makhdoom Sahib Ropeway in Srinagar, which will now run from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM daily, catering to both tourists and pilgrims.
With these changes, the administration aims to enhance the tourism experience in Kashmir, making popular attractions more accessible and visitor-friendly.
