169 terrorists killed this year so far: Police

Srinagar, Nov 30: A total of 169 terrorists, both local and foreign , have been killed during anti-terror encounters with police and security forces so far this year in Kashmir region, police officials said on Wednesday.
Officials revealed that a large quantity of arms and ammunition has been recovered from the slain terrorists during anti terror 
Police said that intense operations against terror will continue in the region.
” The number of FT’s killed this year is twice higher as the compared year 2021.”21 FT’s were killed in 2021 while this year 42 FT’s have been killed during the anti-terror operations,” the official said.
The official said out of total 169 terrorists, 127  locals and 42 foreigners were killed during encounters with security forces this year.
The officer said the joint team of forces is achieving tremendous success in eliminating terrorists in clean sweep operations without any collateral damage to the forces.
He appealed to misguided youth who have joined terror folds to shun the path of terrorism and return to the mainstream. 
The officer said they are also tracking OGWs and hybrid terrorists. Over 100 OGWs and hybrid terrorists have been arrested in the valley.
Following zero infiltration along borders for the past two years, we were able to focus to curb terrorist recruitment and it is being tactically controlled, the officer said.
On Nov 23, Director General of Police (DPG), Dilbag Singh said the number of active terrorists in south Kashmir is concerned, it is as less as it was never before.
“This is for the first time that the number of total active terrorists has been brought to two digits,” he said and credited the synergy among the various security agencies and local people for the success,” he said.
