Jammu and Kashmir Police continuing its action against people involved in various criminal & anti social activities on Friday arrested a timber smuggler and seized large quantity of illicit Forest timber in Arin area of Bandipora.
A Spokesperson said, Bandipora police had received specific information that that one person namely Rayees Ahmad Khan S/o Gh Hassan Khan R/o Khairpora Arin Bandipora has kept illegally acquired forest timber in the courtyard of his house. Accordingly, a team of Bandipora police headed by SHO PS Bandipora & IC PP Sumlar conducted a raid on the specific location and recovered 10 Logs of illegally acquired Forest Timber (measuring 20 CuFt. approx) from the said place and seized them on the spot.The accused person involved was also arrested on the spot.
“In this connection Case FIR No. 03/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bandipora and further investigation has been taken up”, he said.
