Srinagar, Apr 11: The Jammu and Kashmir police along with security forces on Tuesday claimed to have arrested two terrorist associates, including a woman linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT in Pattan area of Baramulla.
A police spokesman said based on specific information regarding movement of terrorist associates, Police along with Army (29RR) and SSB (2ndBn) busted a terror module at Pattan Baramulla. Two terrorist associates linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT were arrested, he said.
They were identified as Farooq Ahmad Parra son of Gh Ahmad Parra, a resident of Par Mohalla Pattan and Saima Bashir, daughter of Bashir Ahmad Mir, a resident of Chinkipora Sopore. Both have been shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody.
The spokesman said on their disclosure, arms and ammunition, including a Pistol, 02 Pistol Magazines, 05 Pistol rounds and IED (approximately 2kgs) along with remote control & other incriminating materials have been recovered.
“During the preliminary questioning, the arrested duo revealed that they were working as terrorist associates with active terrorist Abid Qayoom Lone of Wussan Pattan linked with terrorist outfit LeT,” the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pattan and further investigation has been initiate.
