Srinagar, Aug 09: Security forces have apprehended an Afghan national near the Line of Control (LoC) in Dubai-Basuni village located in Mendhar sector of Poonch district of Jammu region, officials on Wednesday said.
A senior police officer told Rising Kashmir that an Afghanistan national was apprehended by the Army on Monday. He has been identified as Abdul Wahid, resident of Kabul city of Afghanistan. “Initially we thought he was a resident of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and had crossed over to the Indian side. His questioning is going on to ascertain the motive behind his intruding into this side,” a police official said.
About any recovery from Wahid, the police official said no suspicious items were found in his possession. “We have recovered 60 rupees Pakistani currency from his possession that is being probed and further investigation is underway in the case,” he said.
