Leh, Feb 04: Union Territory of Ladakh is going to host the first ever 21 km long Pangong Frozen Lake Marathon on February 20, 2023 this year.
Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh in a Tweet said that Ladakh will be hosting the first 21 km long Pangong Frozen Lake Marathon on February 20, 2023.Registrations are already underway for this event.

The Pangong Frozen Lake Marathon is going to be 21 km long and will take place at an altitude of 13,862 ft.
The entire stretch is going to be across Pangong Tso. The trail for the marathon is a tricky one as the weather condition is going to be cold. This is going to be the first marathon to ever take place at such a high altitude in the world.
Politician, Councillor Chushul and Former Executive Councillor, Konchok Stanzin said that they are excited to host the adventurous marathon on frozen Pangong Frozen Lake.
It will be the next-level marathon ever at such an altitude, he said.
“We are excited to host the most adventurous 21 km long marathon on frozen Pangong lake, that’s going to be held on February 20, 2023. It will be the next-level marathon ever at such an altitude. Get ready!,” Stanzin wrote on his social media Twitter handle.
