Srinagar, Jun 14: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Ravinder Raina launched a vibrant tourism campaign from the iconic Nishat Garden here, urging people across the country to visit the valley and experience its “unmatched beauty”.
The campaign is being carried out under the slogan, “Kuch Din Toh Guzaro Kashmir Mein”, a phrase that resonates with the timeless allure of Kashmir and aims to counter negative perceptions while encouraging travel and cultural engagement.
Speaking at the launch event, Raina emphasised the need to reclaim Kashmir’s image as the “crown of Indian tourism” and said the region has witnessed remarkable improvements in peace, infrastructure and hospitality in recent years.
“Kashmir is no less than paradise on earth. We invite tourists from every corner of the country and the world to come here, witness the breathtaking beauty of our mountains, lakes, and gardens, and interact with the warm-hearted people of this land,” Raina said, standing against the backdrop of the majestic Nishat Garden Srinagar.
He lauded the efforts of the central and UT administration for strengthening tourism infrastructure and maintaining law and order, which he said has created a conducive environment for travel and business.
Locals, too, welcomed the initiative, stating that increased tourism would significantly boost the region’s economy, especially for those involved in the hospitality, transport, and handicrafts sectors.
