Jammu, May 26: In a powerful tribute to the Indian Armed Forces, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday praised the courage and decisive action of Indian soldiers during Operation Sindoor, asserting that the military response has sent a stern warning to terror-sponsoring Pakistan.
“India has warned the terror state Pakistan that our forces can attack every inch of its land and its entire existence could be wiped off from the face of the earth, if it continues to nurture terrorists in its backyard,” said the Lieutenant Governor. He emphasized that the brave soldiers have taught a fitting lesson to Pakistan, showcasing unmatched courage, sacrifice, and justice.
The LG made these remarks while attending a theatrical performance of Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh Dinkar’s epic poem ‘Rashmirathi’, organised by the University of Jammu. The event was dedicated to the heroes of the Armed Forces, symbolizing the eternal values of courage and righteousness.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor paid rich tributes to Dinkar, hailing him as an “incomparable” literary figure whose works embody the spirit of nationalism and moral duty.
“Dinkar is timeless. His verses reflect the soul of the nation. Through his poetry, generations have expressed the ethos of dharma and justice. Rashmirathi is not merely a recounting of ancient history—it is a clarion call for righteous action, especially relevant in today’s evolving geopolitical environment,” he remarked.
Calling upon the youth to emulate the valor of the Armed Forces in their respective fields, the LG said, “Just like our soldiers stand firm on the borders, our young students must dedicate themselves to driving innovation, strengthening democracy, and powering India’s economic growth.”
The performance was part of a cultural initiative led by the “Design Your Degree” program under SIIEDC, University of Jammu. The artists and student performers received special appreciation from the Lieutenant Governor for their “enthralling” presentation.
On the occasion, the University’s Literacy Club also released its magazine ‘Litzine’, further celebrating literary expression and youth engagement.
The event was graced by a host of dignitaries including Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu; Prof. B N Tripathi, Vice Chancellor SKUAST Jammu; Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor SMVDU; Dr. Mandeep K Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the LG; Maj Gen Sanjay Kumar, MG EME Northern Command, along with senior officials, literary figures, faculty members, students, and citizens from various walks of life.
