Ganderbal, Mar 05: In a significant step towards fostering self-reliance and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities, the 118 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) distributed sewing machines and carpentry equipment to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families in the remote areas of Gund, Jammu & Kashmir. The initiative, carried out under the CRPF’s Madadgaar Yojana, aims to empower marginalized communities and provide them with the means to achieve economic independence.

The distribution event was organized by the 118 Battalion CRPF on Wednesday, where selected families were provided with sewing machines and carpentry tools. Commandant Sandeep of the 118 Battalion highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating, “Under the Madadgaar Yojana, CRPF is committed to supporting distressed families and empowering them to become self-reliant. This initiative is a step towards sustainability and improving the quality of life for those in need.”

The Madadgaar Yojana, officially launched on June 16, 2017, was designed to extend support to the underprivileged population of Jammu and Kashmir. Over the years, the program has emerged as a beacon of hope for thousands of families, providing them with resources and opportunities to break the cycle of poverty.

During the event, two families were specifically chosen to receive the sewing machines and carpentry tools, symbolizing the CRPF’s dedication to uplifting communities through targeted assistance. The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the initiative, acknowledging its potential to transform their lives by enabling them to generate income and become self-sufficient.
