SRINAGAR, SEPT 07: As the second phase of the General Elections to the Legislative Assembly approaches, Srinagar district is fully prepared for polling on September 25.
The district, which encompasses eight Assembly Constituencies—19-Hazratbal, 20-Khanyar, 21-Habbakadal, 22-Lal Chowk, 23-Chanapora, 24-Zadibal, 25-Eidgah, and 26-Central Shalteng—will see a total of 7,74,462 voters casting their ballots.
To facilitate smooth voting, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has established 932 polling stations across the district. Of these, 885 are in urban areas and 47 in rural regions.
To maximize voter turnout, various voter education programs are being held across the district to raise awareness about the electoral process.
With all preparations in place, the Srinagar district is set for a smooth and peaceful election process, reflecting a crucial phase in the General Elections to the Legislative Assembly-2024.
Constituency Details:
24-Zadibal leads with 1,12,864 voters and has 143 polling stations. Special provisions include an all-women Pink polling station, a PwD-manned station, and a Youth-manned station.
19-Hazratbal has 1,12,541 voters and 118 polling stations. Special stations feature a Pink polling station, a PwD-manned station, and a Youth-manned station.
26-Central Shalteng with 1,07,770 voters has 114 polling stations, including a Pink polling station, a PwD-manned station, and a Youth-manned station.
22-Lal Chowk has 1,07,199 voters and 137 polling stations. Notable stations include a Pink polling station, a PwD-manned station, and a Youth-manned station.
21-Habbakadal covers 95,546 voters with 128 polling stations, including a Pink polling station, a PwD-manned station, and a Youth-manned station.
20-Khanyar has 91,226 voters and 126 polling stations. Special stations include a Pink polling station, a PwD-manned station, and a Youth-manned station.
23-Chanapora has 85,431 voters and 91 polling stations, featuring a Pink polling station, a PwD-manned station, and a Youth-manned station.
25-Eidgah has 61,885 voters with 75 polling stations, including a Pink polling station, a PwD-manned station, and a Youth-manned station.
