CUK, IIC organise entrepreneurship fest ‘Tabsur-BizTALK’

Ganderbal, Aug 31: The Department of Management Studies (DMS) in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Central University of Kashmir (CUK) organised an Entrepreneurship Venture Fest (Tabsur-BizTALK) at varsity’s Green Campus here on Thursday.
Scores of stalls containing eatables, clothing and other merchandise were erected by the alumni and students of the university which were thronged by the students from different departments, faculty members and other staff.
Addressing the participants, Dean School of Business Studies, Prof. Fayaz Ahmad Nikka, said, the aim of holding the fest is to bring the students out of the classroom and acquaint them with the experiential learning. “Such activities are significant for the holistic development of the students, pursuing professional programmes” Prof. Fayaz Ahmad Nikka said. He asked the students to come out of their comfort zones and use innovative methods and ideas to start the entrepreneurial units. “The Government of India has launched several schemes for promotion of entrepreneurship and those intending to start their ventures can avail these, thus becoming job creators”, he further added. He congratulated the faculty members and volunteers for making the event a grand success.
Speaking on the occasion, Head Deptt of Management Studies, Prof. Abdul Gani, described the venture as of, by and for the students. “The department has invited alumni who have achieved significant success in their business ventures so that they will inspire and encourage the students pursuing studies in the university, to take up the same”, Prof. Abdul Gani said. He said the objective of organising such events is to provide a suitable platform to the students to showcase their hidden talent. Prof. Gani said the department is already inculcating entrepreneurship skills and mind-set among the students, which has also been envisioned in the NEP-2020. Prof. Gani thanked the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath and Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, for their proactive approach in, allowing the conduct of the event.
I/c Controller of Examinations, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Mir, Dean School of Life Sciences, Prof. Muhammad Yousuf, Director Research and Development, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Shah, Director, Nunar Campus, Prof. Abid Hameed, faculty members, administrative staff and other functionaries of the university were present on the occasion.
Asst Prof. Dr. Mir Insha proposed the vote of thanks. Students Ms Areeb and Mr Muhib conducted the programme.
