Jammu, Apr 27: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Working President Raman Bhalla called on party leaders and activists to mobilise efforts and expose what he termed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s “politics of vendetta”.
In a meeting held at Simble camp in RS Pura constituency, Bhalla said the Congress party has a longstanding history of protecting the interests of the people in Jammu and Kashmir. He urged his cadre to prepare for a protest rally on May 1 against terrorism, particularly focusing on the threats posed by Pakistan.
Prominent party leaders, including Dr Subhash Chander, Sardar Ravinder Singh, and Sardar Hardeep Singh, joined Bhalla in addressing the gathering.
Bhalla said, “The Congress would not tolerate any attacks on its leadership or on democratic constitutional institutions by the Modi government. Such actions are designed to distract the populace from pressing socio-economic issues.”
He expressed deep concern over the worsening security situation in the region, highlighting the sacrifices made by security forces and the fear faced by residents in border areas, remote villages, and across Jammu.
“Congress has always taken a leading role in addressing the challenges faced by the nation,” Bhalla stated. Following the recent Pahalgam attack, he called for unity among citizens, stressing the importance of remaining calm amidst rising tensions with Pakistan and expressing the party’s full support for decisive action against terrorism.
Bhalla assured that Congress would work tirelessly to create job opportunities for locals, pledging to prioritise residents over outsiders in developmental projects. Bhalla’s remarks reflect the party’s ongoing commitment to economic empowerment and impartial development for all residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
He reiterated the importance of community involvement and called for public support in electing Congress candidates to effectively address local issues.
