Pulwama, Dec 24 : The Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched an investigation following the death of an elderly woman at her son-in-law’s house in Gudoora village, Pulwama district.

According to a police official, a written complaint was filed by Rafeeqa Bano, the daughter of the deceased, accusing her husband, Mohammad Aslam Mir of Gudoora, of causing her mother’s death. Based on the complaint, an FIR (No. 257/2024) has been registered at Pulwama Police Station under relevant sections of the law, and an investigation is underway.

The incident occurred on Monday evening around 6:00 PM when the deceased, Khurshi Begum, wife of Abul Rehman Dar of Looswani, was brought dead to the District Hospital Pulwama.

Initial reports suggest that the deceased was at her daughter’s house in Gudoora when an argument broke out between Rafeeqa Bano and her husband.

During the altercation, the deceased intervened and reportedly, Mohammad Aslam Mir pushed her, leading to her collapse.

Further investigations are ongoing to ascertain the facts of the case.
