Ramban June 28: The National Congress on Entomology and Emerging Agrotechnologies (NCEEA-2025) culminated in a grand award ceremony at the picturesque alpine meadows of Sanasar, hosted at PY Resorts.
As per a statement issued here, the event, organised by the Entomological Science Academy, Division of Entomology (SKUAST Jammu), and IIT Jammu, brought together leading researchers, academicians, and industry professionals to recognize groundbreaking contributions in agricultural science. Mohammad Alyas Khan, Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, graced the ceremony as the chief guest, applauding the initiative for bridging the gap between academia, policymakers, and farming communities. In a ceremonial highlight, he unveiled the Souvenir and Magazine of the Entomological Science Academy, symbolizing the confluence of research and dissemination of knowledge.
In his address, he emphasized the administration’s commitment to promoting scientific research in the district and assured full support for future events. The three-day conference featured over 100 delegates, including 60 experts from premier institutions such as the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), NRIIPM, IIT Jammu, and universities from South India, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Assam, and Maharashtra. On the second day, 31 outstanding researchers, academicians, students, and industry professionals from institutions like IARI, BHU, SKUAST-K, PAU, Central University of Bihar, AAU, IUST, MPUAT, and TNAU were honored for their pioneering work in entomology, pest management, biotechnology, and sustainable agriculture.
The award ceremony was presided over by Mohammad Alyas Khan, along with Dr. S.K. Gupta, Director of Research, SKUAST Jammu. The congress featured in-depth technical sessions on cutting-edge topics such as AI-driven pest surveillance, nano-formulated pesticides, and climate-resilient farming. The event concluded with an immersive field visit to Sanasar’s high-altitude agricultural landscapes, offering delegates hands-on insights into sustainable farming practices. In his welcome address, Dr. S.K. Gupta highlighted the transformative role of entomological innovations in modern agriculture.
