Kokernag, Feb 13: A 35-year-old man was charred to death in his own vehicle in Panzgam village of Kokernag area in Anantnag district on Monday morning, officials said.
An official said that the deceased has been identified as Shabir Ahmad Rather son of Mohd Asan Rather, a resident of Panzgam Kokernag.
“Charred body was recovered from the vehicle at the Panzgam bus stop. Inquest proceedings were initiated,” a police official said.
The deceased was found in a Maruti van bearing registration number JKO3E 1216, he said.
The dead body was shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Knag for medico-legal formalities, rest will follow, he added.
