Srinagar, Jan 09: In a significant development, the Ministry of Education has granted approval for the release of Prof. Sudhakar Yedla from his position as Director of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar. This decision, effective from January 9, 2024, comes in response to a formal communication received from Prof. Sudhakar Yedla.
According to an official order issued by Pawan Kumar, Under Secretary to the Government of India, the approval was based on a communication dated January 4, 2024, submitted by Prof. Sudhakar Yedla. This communication was prompted by a message received by Prof. Yedla on December 26, 2023, from the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The order further specifies, “The additional charge of the post of Director, NIT, Srinagar (J&K) is hereby assigned to Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Kashmir, with immediate effect. This assignment will be for a period of six months or until further orders or the joining of a regular Director at NIT, Srinagar (J&K), whichever occurs earlier.”
